Ross Fortune is a Dublin based Irish composer, mixing engineer and producer. He has produced music and sound for computer games, short films, adverts for well-known national and global brands, and popular music for national radio.
In 2008 Ross graduated from the highly regarded University College Dublin School of Music. Soon after, he began teaching music production and recording technology, eventually founding his registered sound training centre, Secret School of Sound in 2011, where he continues to lecture music production in Ableton Live and Logic Pro.
He began his career as a freelance composer and creative sound designer writing music for short films and commercial campaigns for clients including Radió Telefís Éireann (RTÉ), the Irish Film Institute, and The Porterhouse Brewing Company. In 2013, he began exploring the world of interactive media and video game sound. His work has since appeared in the global cult hit video game Hotline Miami 2, and other popular titles on a variety of platforms.
Ross specialises in blending electronic and organic instrumental elements with orchestral textures to create diverse and evocative music, soundscapes and sound design. He scores in many musical styles and is equally confident creating electronic scores or orchestral and instrumental works. His technical prowess with cutting edge recording technology, combined with classical training and a high level of proficiency on multiple instruments have allowed him to produce highly personal scores, and develop a unique compositional voice.
